The short version
Blend listens to you sing, and your voice never leaves your device. Pitch detection runs entirely in your browser; no audio is recorded, uploaded, or stored anywhere. What we keep is the score — which lessons you have cleared, how many stars, how far out of tune — and the account you keep it under.
Your microphone
When you start a lesson or a run, your browser asks permission to use the microphone. If you grant it, the audio is analysed in real time inside the page to work out what pitch you are singing. That analysis happens on your own machine, in your own browser.
No audio is transmitted to our servers. No audio is written to disk. No recording exists after you leave the page. The only thing that survives is a number: how close your pitch was to the target. You can revoke microphone access at any time in your browser settings, and Dial is playable without a microphone at all.
What we store
- Your account. Email address and sign-in details, handled by Clerk, our authentication provider. We do not see or store your password.
- Your progress. Lessons cleared, stars earned, accuracy in cents, run scores, and which skills are due for review. This is one record per account.
- Leaderboard entries.If you submit a daily run, your display name and score appear on that day's public board.
- Subscription status. Whether you have an active plan. Payments are processed by Stripe through Clerk; we never see or store your card details.
If you play signed out, your progress is kept in your browser's local storage and never sent anywhere. It is merged into your account if you later sign up.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of processors to run the service:
- Clerk — authentication and subscription billing.
- Stripe — payment processing, via Clerk.
- Neon — the database your progress is stored in.
- Vercel — hosting and server logs.

Cookies
Blend uses cookies that are necessary for it to work — keeping you signed in, and remembering your session. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it and close your account. Write to hello@blendharmony.com and we will action it. Deleting your account removes your progress record and your leaderboard entries.

Children
Blend is not directed at children under [TODO: 13, or 16 in the EU]. We do not knowingly collect data from them.
